House Dance Basics

House includes a foundation of Footwork, Jacking, Lofting, and Floorwork. This dance form was born in the Chicago club scene and expanded in the clubs of New York. It emphasizes fast and complex foot oriented steps combined with fluid movements in the torso. House dance incorporates movements from many other sources such as Capoeira, Tap, Jazz, Bebop, and Salsa. It includes a variety of techniques and sub-forms that include skating, stomping, and shuffling.

Open Level: All Levels are welcome to participate in class: Beginning, Beg/Int, Intermediate, Int/Adv, and Advanced

Choreography & Technique Classes focus on detailed choreography and technique. These classes typically involve more precise and challenging movements than the cardio classes.
