Pop Up Class | Bridget Savant

Bio:

Bridget has been developing her passion of dance for over 30 years. Her training began in Orange County at a young age under Huggy Ford, then expanded to LA and San Diego in her teen years. She studied Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Musical Theater, and Tap within the Southern California competition scene. Her choreography and teaching skills began developing at 16 through youth instruction and high school productions. In college, Bridget danced and cheered competitively with USD’s Dance Team as Captain and taught college credit dance classes for their recreation program.

Post college, Bridget volunteered as USD’s Assistant Coach and Mini Shock San Diego Director. Her career then lead her through several Zumba Fitness Certifications, after school dance program instruction, and various teaching opportunities throughout San Diego. She became Dance To EvOLvE’s Program Development Manager and Mentor, then Culture Shock Dance Center’s Studio Manager. These positions further developed her skills within teaching, program development, customer service, special event project management, marketing, and management. Her training also expanded to include Burlesque, House, Grooves, and various World Dance Styles.

Through these experiences, Bridget developed a special niche with beginner dancers. She created her own business, Movement Savant, to provide wedding and special event choreography, adaptive dance programs, and private lessons for those that prefer one on one attention to reach their dance goals. Working with her students and supporting dancer development has been such a fulfilling journey that she will continue for many years to come.


Class Description:

Cardio Burlesque is designed to give students a nonstop workout through repetition of sensual movement. The music changes all throughout the class to encourage style fusions while the combination develops and speed increases. Beginner dancers learn to build their confidence by drilling foundation, weight changing steps, and endurance. More intermediate dancers are pushed to play with their own style and texture within the combo. No matter the experience level, everyone experiences a fun, sexy, sweat sesh that builds positive self esteem.
*Athletic apparel with cross training sneakers recommended. Bring heels for an extra challenge. Knee pads, sweat towel, accessories, and barefoot optional.
