Halima Dodo is a dance artist and educator committed to authenticity in movement. Through dance, she has enjoyed a career beyond the limits of industry and community—empowering students to reach new levels at Movement Lifestyle, RUTS Dance Studio, Millennium Dance Complex, Cambio Studio, En Dance Studio, TMilly Studio, and LUX Dance Convention. She has worked extensively within the commercial industry, and strives to share knowledge from her experiences beside major recording artists like Amber Liu, Jay Park, JoJo, Kid Cudi, Meek Mill, DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Daddy Yankee, and Anitta, her performances in Killer Burlesque, Hip Hop Nutcracker, The Prom by Ryan Murphy, and Beyonce’s Black Is King. With humble beginnings in the Afro-Caribbean suburbs of Florida, Halima now resides in Los Angeles where she strives to express life and movement through Hip Hop, House, Dancehall, Afromoves, Contemporary Fusion, and Commercial Dance Spaces
Hip Hop includes Afrodiasporic social dances and the dance form of Breaking. The choreography will include popular moves from past to present, such as the monastery and the woah. As a cultural era, Hip Hop emerged from the Black & Latiné youth of the 1970s originally in New York City. The five elements of Hip Hop are Deejaying, Emceeing, Graffiti, Breaking, and Knowledge. The popular dance form welcomes all to participate in living out the principles of peace, love, unity, and having fun!

Beginning/Intermediate: For dancers who have mastered Beginning and are ready to apply foundational knowledge into more detailed dance combinations at a faster rate and with more stylized choreography.
Choreography & Technique Classes focus on detailed choreography and technique. These classes typically involve more precise and challenging movements than the cardio classes.
Choreography Classes will teach a routine of movement created by the instructor to a specific song. They include demonstrations of the routine in sections with detail. At the end of the class, you will be able to run through the choreographed dance to completion.
