Afro dance is a word that encompasses a wide range of distinct styles from many countries. This class will focus on the fundamentals of modern afro dance styles - expressed through choreography and drills. Students will explore history, moves and music. We will focus on:
Naija street style from Nigeria
Amapiano and Pantsula from South Africa
Azonto from Ghana
We will also incorpotate movements from other countries in Afro fusion choreography - Afrohouse (Angola), Bolo (Gabon), and Ndombolo (Congo) and more. The goal of this class is to dance with joy, share space with your community, and express all that you are.
